Checking a palette before changing hair color

I'm trying to work out whether Deep Summer or Deep Winter is closer to my coloring. Dark navy usually feels comfortable on me. That observation isn't enough to settle it, because my photos change a lot between daylight and warm indoor light. A very bright white top can look harsh near my face. Muted berry and charcoal seem promising, but I can't tell whether that's because of their depth or their softness. I would rather compare clothes I already own than buy a new set of drapes. I came across a page about deep summer color palette while collecting examples for a side-by-side check. Is charcoal against black a useful first comparison? I'm looking for a test I can repeat in the same light, not a diagnosis from one selfie. For anyone who has compared these seasons, what did you notice around the face? I plan to keep the camera position consistent. This may help me notice the color differences more clearly. I can ask a friend to look at the same set of photos so I don't rely entirely on my own impression. A short sequence of comparisons would be very helpful.

Which clues matter most in a seasonal palette?

I am planning a capsule wardrobe and want to confirm my season before choosing the main colors. Repeated questionnaires place me near autumn although the exact subtype changes. Camel and olive work well but mustard and strong rust can make my complexion look uneven. Since I want a streamlined wardrobe each neutral and accent needs to combine easily with the others. autumn seasonal palette provides a framework for the first round but I would like to validate the direction with actual fabric. My first idea is to compare cream, warm navy, chocolate, olive, muted teal, and brick. I plan to document every drape in indirect daylight using the same camera settings. While testing the neutral group should I focus more on skin clarity or on harmony with my hair and eyes? I would like two flexible accent colors that can work across casual and slightly formal outfits. Dusty peacock blue seems useful while brick red may be easier than orange. Would these drapes confirm the direction or should I add a cooler control color for comparison? A small set of decisive checks would help me avoid buying colors based only on a label. My focus is a wearable result rather than following every suggested autumn shade. Any capsule wardrobe experience is welcome

Trying to make a useful personal colour shortlist

I am planning a small work wardrobe and would rather choose a few useful colours than chase every shade in a seasonal palette. The initial plan is to begin with two neutrals, one darker accent, and one lighter colour near the face. My shortlist includes navy, charcoal, muted blue, berry, and a soft off-white. Instead of relying on labels alone I want to see each option next to fabrics that I already wear often. Several basic pieces from my closet should make the contrast easier to judge than isolated digital swatches. I would rather keep the conclusion provisional but I would like a sensible direction for future purchases. I will give the shortlist a few wears before changing it again. I am using this to organise the possibilities: what is my color palette After that I can keep only the colours that work together in real life. Which four or five colours would you test first for a practical, low-volume wardrobe?
